I'm Steve — a native English speaker from the United States, a university lecturer, business professional and private English teacher. You can work with me fully online, or arrange onsite teaching for yourself, your colleagues, your family or a small group. A transparent CEFR points model, built on established learning science
Your level is not a guess. Every graded activity — placement tests, quizzes, exercises, lessons, song analysis and speaking practice — awards CEFR points on a published formula, split across an assessment track and a practical track. Teacher-led work is badged as such and credited to your account the same as solo work.

The pedagogy combines approaches we trust rather than inventing one: the CEFR as the level framework, mastery learning (Bloom) for the 50% floor and threshold-based promotion, spaced repetition (Ebbinghaus, Leitner) for vocabulary flip cards, retrieval practice and formative assessment for scored exercises with explanations, comprehensible input (Krashen) and task-based language teaching (Willis, Ellis) for lessons and speaking work, plus contrastive analysis — Czech and other first languages used deliberately as scaffolding.
