I'm Steve, a native English speaker from the United States, a university lecturer and learning designer with a B.A. in Communication from Arizona State University.
For twenty years, I've taught in international classrooms, lecture halls and boardrooms. And I've learned the same lesson over and over: people don't fail because they lack intelligence or access to good learning. They run out of feedback, practice and consistent commitment.
That's why I built LinguaBOOST.

Four careers, one platform.
LinguaBOOST is what happens when a lecture hall, a language classroom, a learning & development department and an AI lab end up in the same place. I have spent more than ten years lecturing at university level, teaching Czech and international students who needed English for degrees, careers and real life, not for a workbook. Alongside that I have taught privately and in language schools in Prague, where you learn very quickly that the lesson is the easy part. The hard part is the six days in between.
That gap is a design problem, and instructional design is the other half of my working life: building learning and development software, sequencing curricula, writing assessment that actually measures the stated objective, and shipping it to people who will not tolerate busywork. My EU work with the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative, including certification in Generative AI and Agentic AI, and two years as an AI Expert and Advisor to the European Commission (2024–2026), put me in the room where these systems are assessed for real educational value rather than novelty. LinguaBOOST is the answer I kept wanting to give in those rooms.
CEFR-inspired, not CEFR-flavoured
Levels describe what you can do: ask, explain, negotiate, narrate. Everything you complete feeds a published points model, so A2 to B2 is a measured journey, not a marketing label.
Taught by a teacher, built by a designer
Every activity has an objective, a reason it is useful in real communication, and a review point later. Lessons move from input and support toward independent use, the arc I teach with.
AI that explains, in your language
Speech, writing and recitation are transcribed, scored and explained, with the Czech (or Slovak, Polish, Ukrainian, German, Spanish) contrast that makes the correction stick.

Where the teaching started
My career in Czechia began teaching at Glossa and PRESTO, working with adults who needed English for work, study and daily life. Hundreds of lessons later, the pattern was obvious: progress is decided by what happens between the lessons.

Ten-plus years lecturing, Faculty of Economics & Management
Lecturing in the English-language Bachelor of Economics & Management programme to Czech, Erasmus and international cohorts: management, organisational behaviour, global business cases and digital transformation. Mentor and instructor on global internships
Designing and supervising AI and automation projects for international interns, and coaching cross-cultural collaboration. Teaching people who are working in a second language every day is where LinguaBOOST's bias towards real situations comes from.
LinguaBoost English Academy: CEFR platform at government scale
Lead instructional designer and AI architect for a CEFR A1–C1 academy used by learners from the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Information Security: media-rich lessons, professional-domain content and real-time AI conversation practice with grammar and pronunciation feedback. That deployment is the direct ancestor of this platform.
Quality-checked AI curricula, approved with no changes required
Author of two EIT DTTI quality-checked programmes at EQF levels 4–6: Agentic AI & Human–AI Teaming (course 11083) and AI Prompt Engineering Skills for Business (course 7115), both with AI tutors embedded for corrective feedback and competency-based assessment. This is where the platform's architecture comes from: models chosen per task, evaluated before release, never trusted blindly.
AI Expert and Advisor, 2024–2026
Advised on EIT DTTI AI academies and workforce upskilling, and how AI systems are assessed for genuine value, safety and educational integrity. That is exactly why LinguaBOOST publishes its scoring formula and keeps a human teacher in the loop.
Building the software, not just using it
Founder of an AI company delivering enterprise learning platforms: branded academies, AI tutors, agent builders and competency analytics for institutions and businesses. LinguaBOOST was engineered rather than assembled from plugins: speech transcription, scoring, first-language explanation and progress tracking are one system.
A transparent CEFR points model, built on established learning science
Your level is not a guess. Every graded activity, from placement tests, quizzes and exercises to lessons, song analysis and speaking practice, awards CEFR points on a published formula, split across an assessment track and a practical track. Teacher-led work is badged as such and credited to your account the same as solo work.

The pedagogy combines approaches we trust rather than inventing one: the CEFR as the level framework, mastery learning (Bloom) for the 50% floor and threshold-based promotion, spaced repetition (Ebbinghaus, Leitner) for vocabulary flip cards, retrieval practice and formative assessment for scored exercises with explanations, comprehensible input (Krashen) and task-based language teaching (Willis, Ellis) for lessons and speaking work, plus contrastive analysis, with Czech and other first languages used deliberately as scaffolding.
